The Ranger's Handbook
The Ranger’s Handbook is a photographic investigation examining the life of a ranger. It consists of a collection of images, interviews, class notes written by a ranger and documents found in the camps. This book not only informs about daily tasks undertaken working as a ranger, but also offers a more personal insight into the feelings of rangers about their expectations and realities; on topics such as love and fear.
The book highlights the difficult balance of being a ranger, who is an enforcer, and also being a member within the community. It contains dangerous narratives of attacks by poachers and wildlife, whilst simultaneously educating the audience about the animal knowledge a ranger has been taught.
